Responsibilities
- Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
- Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
- Responsible for various aspects of inventory control.
- Responsible for creating and implementing Inventory Control procedures, managing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability to meet production needs while minimizing inventory costs.
- Responsible for data processing, product data management and inventory variance reporting.
- Maintain and distribute Tooling Nomenclature
- Works closely with Operations personnel, and interacts with all other departments.
- Analyzes inventory levels, production speed and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
- Forecasts and analyzes needs for parts or product inventory.
- Analyzes and prepares reports with recommendations for eliminating defective, unusable or obsolete items.
- Analyzes daily production shortages and coordinates between purchasing and production to minimize shutdown time.
- Maintains and records inventory transactions in inventory control system.
- Compiles and maintains database of inventory records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Compares inventory records against physical count of inventory; makes adjustments to or investigates variances and inaccuracies, including reconciling all point-of-use locations.
- Responsible for all resin movement in and out of the plant.
- Receive resin to In Transit status in JDE after buyer updates quantity ordered to actual pounds shipped.
- Trace railcar shipments in ShipCSX
- Schedule plant switches in ShipCSX
- Notify PM, Buyer, Receiving, Quality, Supervisors of plant switches
- Receive resin in JDE
- Daily direct and monitor resin pumping
- Coordinate bulk truck deliveries
- Adjust resin to silo counts weekly (requires Management approval).
- Manage corrugate deliveries
- Manage pallet deliveries
- Enters data from cycle counts, reconciliation of cycle counts, and weekly item report.
- Uses physical counts from Warehouse Department to reconcile discrepancies.
- Enters data for internal part transfers and some incoming warehouse deliveries. Daily verification of all transactions are required, which will involve verifying the transactions of other employees.
- Reconciles inventory inaccuracies using negative inventory report, no usage / no forecast report, obsolete report, transaction trace history, and BOM audits.
- Assists with coordinating and executing annual plant-wide physical inventory.
- Verifies daily back-flushing of production inventory.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- Responsible for new item set-up and bill of material management, including piece usage calculations, mold run rate calculations and loading.
- Writes and implements Inventory Control procedures.
- Works with Production and QA to keep consistent procedures in place, including aiding with training of employees.
Qualifications
- Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
- Capable of maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Read, write and speak English.
- Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines.
- Negative drug screen test results.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job, will be considered.
- Experience working with an MRP system.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis
- Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting.
- Strong math and logic skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to develop metrics to monitor results.
- Able to effectively communicate ideas (through oral and written presentations).
- Able to listen to others and appropriately act on information provided.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Able to use a variety of computer programs/systems to track results (material databases, Word, Excel, Email, Internet, etc.).
- Able to work independently with little supervision.
- Prefer BA Degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience working in inventory control, cost accounting, and JDE would be a plus.
