Responsibilities
- Verify and update mold drawings both internally and through outside vendors
- Communicate changes and tool evaluations to engineers and location managers
- Repair and troubleshoot molds at the molding machine
- Lead project team on mold refurbishments and modifications
- Manufacture mold components per supplied prints
- Provide training to mold repair technicians
- Investigate new technology
- Perform preventative maintenance work on molds
- Repair injection molds and hot runner issues
- Safely operate hoists, mold cart, and lift equipment
Qualifications
- 2 yr degree in Machine Trades Technology (Tool & Die) or Precision Machining Technology
- Machine shop mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
- Ability to run conventional machine shop machines (including CNC equipment)
- Demonstrated problem solving and strong communication skills
- Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
