Abbott Interfast is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing team and drive the procurement strategy for our fastener manufacturing operations. With a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring material availability to meet production demands. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs
- Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and negotiate contracts that meet company objectives
- Coordinate with production and engineering departments to forecast material needs and ensure adequate supply
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding purchasing activities
- Lead a team of purchasing specialists to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Report on purchasing metrics and key performance indicators to senior management
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (Required)
- Experience in the manufacturing industry and knowledge of fastener products is preferred
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
