Responsibilities
- Verify and update mold drawings both internally and through outside vendors.
- Communicate changes and tool evaluations to engineers and location managers.
- Assist in logistics associated with bringing tools from other Berry locations.
- Assist with purchasing and cost tracking associated with tools from other locations.
- Repair and troubleshoot molds.
- Lead project team on mold rebuilds / modifications.
- Provide training to mold repair technicians.
- Design / Implement tooling changes / modifications.
- Responsible for maintaining diesets.
- Working with maintenance to maintain machines and build any parts needed to do so.
- Cleaning shop as needed.
- Investigate new technology.
- Perform preventative maintenance work on molds.
- Provide for purchase or machining of stock/replacement parts and related supplies
- Coordinate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance departments on mold issues.
- Monitor department operations and make cost effective changes to existing methods to improve production, quality, and manufacturing costs.
- Provide for efficient operating methods and adherence to company policies, rules, and regulations.
- Supervise, direct, and develop all tool shop associates.
- Work to streamline and ensure safety of mold change overs.
- Motivate associates in the interest of safety, quality, productivity, morale, and good housekeeping according to company policy.
- Help to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe workplace by insuring adherence to safety standards and good manufacturing processes.
- Conduct daily shift meetings in tool shop to address production needs and requirements.
- Attend daily morning meeting to discuss updates on projects, upcoming mold maintenance, and any other tooling concerns.
- Perform and complete all other duties and projects as assigned by manager.
- Follow and enforce applicable Food Safety and cGMP policies.

Education and Experience
Ø Machine shop Mathematics(algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
Ø Ability to run conventional machine shop machines (including CNC equipment)
Ø 2 Yr degree in Machine Trades Technology
Ø Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft Office and JDE preferred
Ø Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities with other departments
Language and Communication Skills
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of Berry employees.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, or hear. The employee is also regularly required to walk, lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and occasionally carry materials up to 33 pounds in order to function in their job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment
While performing the duties for this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and various types of equipment that have vibration.
