Responsibilities
1 Work with the Engineering team on continues improvements in their production area.
2 Inspect and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems on machines.
3 Direct the Maintenance Journeyman or Maintenance Apprentice in absence of GL.
4 Be technical lead in high priority breakdowns.
5 Stay cognizant of all work performed on assigned machines and machine performance.
6 Assist GL in disciplinary matters of personnel within group.
7 Maintain neat and orderly appearance of shop areas and machines.
8 Seek training to stay current with job requirements.
9 Assume control of machine when a situation arises which has potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of machine.
10 Insure a safe and healthy work environment for department personnel.
Qualifications
1. Able to work independently and with others.
2. Exceptional Electrical and PLC skills. Knowledge on mechanical systems.
3. Able to accept responsibility for work performed.
4. Excellent trouble shooting skills.
5. Dependable and motivated.
6. Good past work experience.
7. Journeyman papers or equivalent technical degree preferred.
8. High School diploma or GED equivalent
9. Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection). Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
10. Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns on forklifts.
11. Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches. Ability to complete an “Isihara” color vision test.
12. Ability to lift 45 pounds at a minimum of ten times per hour.
13. Ability to lift 45 pounds over shoulder height a minimum of ten times per hour.
14. Able to work in extremes of heat/cold.
15. Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building.
16. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.
