Responsibilities
- Exemplifies the Berry Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Berry inside and outside of the plant.
- Embodies commitment for a safe workplace, and acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities, and communication Responsible for assisting plant management in implementing safety programs and educating associates about safety.
- Responsible for supervising, overseeing and directing all mold techs, team leaders, and machine operators in their daily performance of job duties as it pertains to their safety, productivity, quality of product manufactured, and 5S/ housekeeping.
- Responsible for tracking and directing all parts manufactured as needed for work order.
- Responsible for overseeing production rate of skilled labor to monitor workflow, efficiency and quality.
- Responsible for issuing corrective action notifications for program areas failing to meet the quality/delivery expectations.
- Responsible for consistently evaluating/documenting personnel performance as needed.
- Responsible for managing housekeeping of entire production area.
- Responsible for training assignments of new associates, evaluate progress during 90-day probationary period, recommends discharge or retention.
- Plays an active role in employee turnover/retention efforts of department.
- Responsible for conducting all counseling and written warnings, suspensions and HR approved discharges for warranted violations of plant rules.
- Responsible for managing all department employees, including but not limited to: approve or deny vacation requests, time card verification, monitor attendance and taken disciplinary action if necessary, accident investigation and assigning daily work assignments.
- Responsible for ensuring that all hours worked by associates are accurate in the attendance system and approve all time cards of all hourly associates working on their shift.
- In the event of injury or incident, responsible for preparing all accidents reports by thoroughly investigating the accident and ensuring report is captured in GDC system.
- Supervisor Responsibilities include:
- Interpret company polices to employees; enforce all safety and policy regulations.
- Responsible for interviewing candidates considered for hire in department.
- Responsible for new employee instructions and proper onboarding into department and team.
- Assign jobs and schedule employees.
- Resolve issues with employees.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in supervisory role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment and loud noise; Hearing protection required at times.
- Equal amounts of time spent sitting, standing, bending, and lifting/moving.
- Good communication skills--verbal and written; effectively communicate with customers, both external and internal.
- Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.
