The Key Account Manager responsibilities include developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers to increase sales of the organization’s PVC Overwrap & Foodservice Films product line. This position is a field sales position that requires interfacing with customer contacts at multiple levels in Purchasing, Product Development, Operations, Quality, Sales and Marketing. Accounts vary from medium to large companies in different market segments, but primarily selling to users and distributors of flexible food packaging- grocery, food service and processors. Additionally, the Key Account Manager will interact with locally assigned territory sales managers/agents/brokers which may be account specific within a market.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Key Accounts portfolio by developing and delivering customer-level annual sales plans
- Solidify and expand complex existing customer relationships to increase sales
- Develop long-term multi-level relationships with key customers
- Pursue identified business prospects and participate actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities
- Reporting and forecasting
- Collaborate with Product Management, R&D and sales leadership to define overall sales strategy and to develop solutions responsive to the Customer’s business
- Perform all other duties as assigned or required to maintain and grow profitable business with the assigned account base
Qualifications
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
- High level of successful experience in large strategic accounts
- Minimum of five years of sales management experience for national or strategic account business
- High level of financial and business acumen
- Flexible films experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work cross-functionally to drive business solutions
- Strong computer and organizations skills
- Innovative with strong project management skills
- Ability to learn new products and technologies and use analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Travel extensively (50%) to meet customers
