Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Ensure safe transport of all finished goods and raw materials.
- Inspect the trailers to ensure that there is no damage to the trailers and to ensure that the vehicle is properly loaded.
- When required, unload and load trailers using forklift or clamp trucks.
- Ensure all shipment paperwork required to move with shipments are properly completed and that appropriate paperwork accompanies each shipment.
- Maintain safe driving record and promptly report all accidents involving driver or company equipment and any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions, or other
- Maintain all paperwork and documents required by Federal DOT.
- Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)
Position Requirements
- Class A CDL license or eligible to become certified
- Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance, and transportation of materials.
- Excellent driving record
- 3-5 years experience as commercial truck driver.
PPE Required – Requirements within the facility are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel-toed shoes, hairnet, beardnet (if employee has chin hair greater than 1/8 inch).

- Manual Dexterity -- The ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Information Ordering -- The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
- Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer
- Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Wrist-Finger Speed -- The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Forklift certified --- 1-3 years of forklift experience. Must be certified or capable of being certified.
- Multilimb Coordination -- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
- Lifting Requirements -- Ability to lift 30 pounds over head to total height of six feet
- Walking/Standing---Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 8 hours per day.
Authorities
- Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management
- Report any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard
Position Hours
- Hours assigned by Manager
- Flexibility for occasional overtime and call-in work required
Organization Relationships
- Report directly to Shipping/Warehouse Manager for purposes of scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment
- Indirectly to the Supervisors and Shipping Coordinators on procedures and work instructions
