Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support production goals and enhance overall operational performance
Process Design and Optimization:
- Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product standards.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product quality and process inefficiencies.
- Equipment and Tooling:
- Select, procure, and maintain manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Design custom jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production needs.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
- Provide training and technical support to production staff as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process maps, and reports.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular updates for management.
- This position will provide technical, hands-on engineering and project management for manufacturing equipment, automated production lines, and related equipment in the production of plastic closuresManage CapEx projects and make recommendations regarding new technology and processes to improve quality, productivity and overall manufacturing efficiencyResponsible for manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scrap reductionUtilize data to identify trends to guide continuous improvement activitiesSupport and troubleshoot multi-discipline machine technology to include mechanical, electrical, controls, PLC’s, vision systems, and drivesProvide process and mechanical training to current and new operators and techniciansProvides technical support in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Accountable for personal adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety and Plant Policies with occasional non-routine travel required
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field with experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical / electrical background with excellent troubleshooting skills
- Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Ability to draw in 2D and 3D software
- Strong project management and organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to create and deliver training to a multi-disciplinary group of individuals
