Responsibilities
- Install, alter, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on thermoforming machines.
- Perform all required preventative maintenance tasks within the timeline specified on all assigned equipment.
- Assist Electricians with troubleshooting, repairs, and installs.
- Perform all tasks and complete any required documentation in ISO/SQF.
- Assist with any other tasks asked of you when needed in order to be a team player and help out whenever you may be needed.
- Perform tool changes on Formers and tool repairs in shop.
- Follow all Safety, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP practices.
Qualifications
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, hydraulic and electrical prints, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Capable of performing job duties with little or no supervision.
- Capable of welding.
- Berry Forklift Certified.
- Able to work well with others.
- Assist in training needs.
- Maintain a neat and orderly appearance of shop and Thermo machines.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs over shoulder height at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs to waist at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to push/pull 35 lbs at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to work at heights. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
- Ability to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
- Ability to work overhead of in an awkward position on a frequent basis.
- Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system.
- Vision correctable to 20/40 or better with peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
- Must be able to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reaction.
- Ability to stand/walk for 11 hours of a 12-hour shift.
- Take control of a machine when a situation arises that has the potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of equipment.
- Must be able to work any shift and mandatory overtime when required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Minimum four years maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge on plant start-up / shut-down.
- Capable of communicating with tech support and parts procurement.
- Functional knowledge of all aspects of maintenance, plant infrastructure, and knowledge of all tower, chillers, dryers, pumps, etc. that are vital to plant operations.
- Emphasis on regaining machines to production status-timely and effectively.
- Assist Engineers on special projects.
- CEW certification preferred.
