Responsibilities
- Install, alter, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanics on all equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems when needed.
- Safely perform all required preventative maintenance tasks within the timeline specified on all assigned equipment in thermo department and building utilities/infrastructure.
- Safely perform all tasks and complete any required documentation in ISO/SQF.
- Assist with any other tasks asked of you when needed in order to be a team player and help out whenever you may be needed.
- Safely assist with mold changes when needed.
- Follow all safety, food safety, GMP and HACCP practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum seven years combined electrical and mechanical experience on industrial machines and related production equipment.
- Provide leadership to maintenance techs and guide their shift and oncoming shifts.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Emphasis on regaining machines to production status-timely and effectively.
- Assist PM team when necessary on PMs and special projects.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, hydraulic and electrical prints and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Plant shut down and start up (knowledge).
- Working knowledge of electrical prints and drawings with working knowledge of hydraulic prints preferred.
- Capable of communicating with tech support and parts procurement.
- Functional knowledge of all aspects of maintenance.
- Functional knowledge of all plant infrastructure and knowledge of all tower, chillers, dryers, pumps, etc. that are vital to plant operation.
- Ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Capable of performing job duties with little or no supervision.
- Capable of welding.
- Able to work well with others.
- Assist in training needs.
- Maintain a neat and orderly appearance of shop and molding machines.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. over shoulder height at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. to waist at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to push/pull 35 lbs. at a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to work at heights. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
- Ability to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 10 times per day.
- Ability to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
- Ability to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis.
- Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system.
- Vision correctable to 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
- Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reaction.
- Ability to stand/walk for 11 hours of a 12 hour shift. Or 7 hours of an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Take control of a machine when a situation arises that has the potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of equipment.
- Must be able to work any shift and mandatory overtime as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Proficient, skillful and expert on all Electrical duties.
- CEW certified.
- Berry forklift certified
- Maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, mechanical systems, breakers and fixtures.
