This role will report to the Sales Development Manager and plays a critical role in driving new business to ShipMonk by sourcing & qualifying outbound accounts that fit ShipMonk’s model. They are the first point of contact for all of our clients and we consider them to be ultimate connectors or relationship builders. They leverage social media, email campaigns, and phone calls to help educate potential clients about ShipMonk services.
In other words, our Sales Development Representatives know how to Get Sh*t Done! They are passionate about what they do and love hitting big goals.
What you'll do:
- Learn & Educate. Capable of grasping ShipMonk’s products’ features quickly and articulate relevant information accurately and persuasively. You need to have a strong desire to learn, educate, and share information on our ever-changing product with possible merchants you find and target that might not even know who ShipMonk is.
- Outstanding Communication Skills. Able to spark interest by delivering a flawless, engaging pitch customized to the listener’s pain that pushes the listener to explore ShipMonk’s capabilities deeper. Skilled at uncovering important fulfillment details by asking strategic questions and offering consultative solutions on how ShipMonk could help that leads to successful sales closed by other sales teammates.
- Relationship Builder. History of connecting with people and building mutually rewarding relationships with the GSD attitude. Builds rapport through outstanding research and custom outreach with ideal customers that fit ShipMonk’s model.
- Problem Solver. Able to get to the root cause of issues, using critical skills to generate solutions and schedule time with team experts that can solidify that recommendation/solve that problem.
What you'll need:
- Performance & Results Driven. Sales, portfolio, or relationship experience strongly preferred with the proven ability to drum up new business and spark engagement with potential merchants. Comfortable in a competitive environment, with evidence of personal ambition.
- Voracious Learner. When you come across something you’re not familiar with, an innate desire burning from within propels you into GSD mode to shut down the ambiguity and become a master of this new information.
- Consultative. You believe knowledge is power and are focused on the customer’s best interests over closing a deal. In the long run, the best fit is a mutual fit and you will be the first person to point a prospective account into the correct fit using ShipMonk knowledge/features.
- Team Player. Actively contributes to the group in order to meet goals, tasks, and projects. Players take steps to actively listen to coworkers, respect ideas and aim to win.
