Responsibilities
Ensure all job duties are conducted in a safe and professional manner at all times. The Assistant must follow the chain of command and report directly to the Production Supervisor, or a more experienced Operator (Extrusion) for all aspects of their job functions. The Assistant is directly responsible for the safety, quality, output, and housekeeping of their assigned lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties as assigned)
MANUFACTURING;
Duties include assisting with line setup, start-up, scrap-control, quality checks, new hire training, packing out the finished product, and any other duties set forth by the Shift Supervisor. Complete all required paperwork. Inform the supervisor immediately of all maintenance issues prior to the request being filled out as well as quality, resin, housekeeping, safety, or production issues. The employee will be expected to fill in for the Operator in their absence, based on their development and overall experience level.
OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS;
Verbally communicate with co-workers on problems and activities.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent or previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do functional math; i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying, and division. Accurately read a tape measure.
