Heat Treat Operator
Location: Warren, MI
Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Pay: $24.71/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heat Treat Operator to join our team in Warren, MI. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in heat treatment within a manufacturing environment. Please apply only if you have relevant experience — applications without it will not be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform minor maintenance on furnaces (non-confined space).
· Maintain flow scopes and conduct basic electrical troubleshooting (e.g. replace heating elements).
· Read and interpret lab-generated work tickets.
· Group and load parts for furnace processing using manual handling or hoists.
· Move trays using roller carts and load/unload furnaces.
· Set furnace cycle times, temperatures, and atmospheres; monitor cycles.
· Copper plate small parts using a progressive tank dip system; strip copper post-cycle.
· Charge/discharge chromizing furnaces daily (loosen and tighten 8 bolts per furnace).
· Document furnace operations and sign off on work orders and charts.
· Place parts in -100°F freezer occasionally.
· Perform shot peening on retainers.
Exposure and Work Environment
· Brief exposure to industrial chemicals: quench oils, tri-valent chrome, sulfuric acid, cupric sulfate, hexavalent chromium, ammonium iodide, and others.
· Regular interaction with high-temperature furnaces (up to 1750°F).
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in a precision machining or heat treat environment.
· Familiarity with G-code and M-code (G&M Codes).
· Hands-on experience with:
o Manual turning, milling, drilling
o CNC mill, lathe, broach, and drilling equipment

· Preferred: Experience with a Key Seater machine

· Ability to follow detailed work instructions
· Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Physical Demands
· Frequent repetitive handling of small parts (less than 10 lbs)
· Occasional lifting or pushing/pulling heavier loads (hoists, carts, magnets provided)
· Manual bolting of chrome furnace doors one to two times per day
· Tasks may take 1 to 3 hours per day depending on part size and load
