Summary:
Perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as set forth in machine manuals and by company policy pertaining to automated equipment
Responsibilities
Areas of Responsibility and Authority:
Support and improve current automation and auxiliary equipment conditions.
- Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement as well as standard work procedures.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain (preventive maintenance) automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Analyze products to be manufactured, create mechanical design documents, and design the automated equipment to produce products in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Act as the project technical lead and maintain technical project files.
- Data collection from plant automation.
- Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification test results.
- Research, select, or apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication.
- Support production by troubleshooting and programming plant automation.
- Responsible for programming and designing PLC controls for new equipment.
- Project management on new automation projects.
- Create OPL and SOP for automative equipment
- Train technicians
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualification and requirements:
- PLCs -Understanding of AC and DC motors; Understanding of servo systems
- Motors and Drives - Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints. Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
- Electrical Skills - Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints. Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
- Robotics - Basic understanding of robot operations; Understanding of I/O and interfacing, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience
- MMIs - Understanding of basic concepts, familiar with PanelView Plus and PanelView hardware. Ability to use RSView Studio and PanelBuilder software
- Vision Systems - Understanding of Cognex/DVT software. Ability to design, diagnose, and troubleshoot vision applications. Ability to use DVT FrameWork and visLOC software is a plus
- Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Works in both manufacturing and office environment
- Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time.
- Exposed to moderate to high noise levels.
