Our Home is seeking a skilled Packing Machine Operator (PMO) to join our team on 2nd shift. The PMO is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the packing to assure that they are working properly. They must possess leadership skills in handling the staff in the packaging room. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This position's typical schedule works Monday - Friday 3:00PM - 11:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for team members to meet or exceed business goals around Safety, Training, Quality, Production, and Cost
- Maintain and operate packaging equipment (i.e. Baggers, Adco Cartoner, conveyors, printing, and taping machines)
- Ensures proper packaging line set up
- Continuously monitor and check product quality
- Monitor process equipment and document any issues or concerns, and report any problems with materials or equipment
- Carries out prescribed daily and weekly sanitation procedures
- Comply with all GMP best practices
- Ensures that the highest safety and sanitation standards are maintained
- Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Requires knowledge of product quality
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Forklift certification is required
- Ability to work well on a team but be self-motivated and Independent
- Continuous standing and walking
- Constant bending and lifting required (50-80 lbs.)
