POSITION SUMMARY
As the Bosch Assistant, you’ll be responsible for the setup of the machine for the run, including start up. Additional duties will be to make any machine adjustments necessary during the batch run as required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Set up the machine for the run, including start up and entering information in the system (PCLE).
- Make any machine adjustments and troubleshoot needed during the batch run, as required.
- Visually inspect the machine as it is running to verify that it is running within normal safe operational parameters. Take in-process physical measurements of capsules throughout the compression run and document measurements. Make minor adjustments as necessary to keep all physical characteristics of capsule within specification.
- Maintain machine in reasonably clean condition during encapsulation run and the room organized.
- Make sure all paperwork is complete and accurate throughout and after the run. Document all set up and cleaning in PCLE and other pertinent documentation.
- Assemble the machine.
- Clean and/or disassemble machine after the completion of encapsulation run.
- Maintain machine in good working order; to include:
- Inspect machine for wear and tear and communicate any malfunction or defect to your immediate supervisor.
- Have any worn or malfunctioning parts evaluated and/or replaced by maintenance.
- Clean and maintain tooling in good condition.
- Perform any and all additional tasks related to the operation of the encapsulation department, as required.
- Adhere to existing corporate policies and procedures in the Production Department. This is inclusive of cGMP’s, SOP’s, safety and good housekeeping practices.
- PPE equipment will be used appropriately and at appropriate times.
- Meet or exceed daily production requirements per product specifications as set by Production Planning.
- Perform other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS)
- By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Must be able to work an entire shift, when necessary, in an enclosed room.
- Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or a full-air respirator for up to four hours at a time and be able to follow Respiratory Protection Program guidelines.
- Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
- Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned production equipment and machinery.
- Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, and clean production equipment, occasionally grasping with force and using twisting wrist movements.
- Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during a 12-, 10- or 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees.
- Must be able to see and read small print.
- Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
- Must be able to comprehend directions, read, understand and follow directions given, understand Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and maintain high quality workmanship.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in basic math.
- Ability to communicate in English via speaking, writing, and reading. Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands and occasionally with short notice.
- Excellent problem solving.
- Basic familiarity with computerized systems and basic software application
