Position Summary:
Applied Material’s Office of the CTO is driving growth in new and adjacent markets through technical and business model innovation by incubating and commercializing programs in different fields.
CTO team is looking for a well-rounded and analytically oriented finance leader. CTO Finance lead will partner with CTO executive staff and program leadership teams to drive finance operating rhythm, provide actionable insights, and deliver to financial targets. This position will closely partner with BU CFO in driving CTO strategy, portfolio prioritization, complex financial analysis, systems and process innovations to support new business models.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary business partner and first point of contact for CTO leadership teams for all financial matters
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
- Own and drive CTO finance operating rhythm and lead FP&A activities
- Perform insightful financial modeling, ROI analysis, scenario planning, and portfolio prioritization
- Implement and manage robust systems and processes to enable transaction processing, cost tracking and accurate and timely accounting.
- Provide operational transaction support and work on special projects with notable risk and complexity; develop the strategy for project execution
- Review customer/partner contracts and support government grant reporting /compliance
- Provide guidance and enforce finance policies and controls
- Drive group objectives tied to performance metrics, continuous improvement projects, cost efficiency initiatives and actively contributes to Global Finance projects and priorities
- Collaborate and coordinate with extended CTO finance team members including Opex COE, ORCA, regional finance, corporate finance, and others
- Mentors and trains extended CTO finance team
Key Qualifications
- Expert in financial planning and analysis and business partnering
- Strong data collation, manipulation, reporting skills
- Excellent influencing and customer relationship skills
- Proven competencies in communications, presentations, problem-solving, etc.
- Thrive in ambiguity in a startup type environment and collaborate broadly
- Experience working in the manufacturing industry or in operational roles is a strong plus
- Proactive, passionate, curious individual with strong desire to learn and grow
- Master's Degree/MBA Preferred

U.S. Salary Range:
$154,000.00 - $212,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
