Responsibilities
The Greenville (GREE) Production Department is committed to providing high quality products and service that meet our customer’s expectations. The production area is the hub of our operations and rely upon the right balance of technology, teamwork and skilled employees to meet our customer needs. This entry-level position gives the foundation for building a solid career path within our organization. As a member of the GREE Production Team, you will report to the Shift Supervisor and will work closely with various team members to achieve a cohesive unit.
- Follow all Company policies as outlined in Handbook
- Follow all Berry GMPs, Safety Absolutes and Safe Working Policies
- Follow all safety and food safety policies
- Champion highest possible quality of goods in accordance with Quality Manual and Quality Absolutes
- Adhere to guidelines for Stop Work; Workplace Observations; and Zero Pellet Loss programs
- Know the location and function of the safety emergency stop buttons/cords
- Understand blade safety as it related to utility knife and j-knife
- Able to navigate QSI/CPro, Berry University and Self Services systems with assistance.
- Perform necessary housekeeping duties to support 6S and AIB standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
- Must be able to complete essential job tasks in accordance with applicable Risk Assessments
- Must be trained and certified to operate forklift properly at all times
- Must abide by pedestrian safety guidelines and pertinent safety absolutes at all times
- Must receive refresher training if found in violation of any safe operating procedures
- Perform daily forklift inspections and complete checklist for documentation
- Operate forklift to transport resin boxes to storage area and move boxed scrap and roll scrap to Erema
- Load rolls of scrap to be fed into pelletizer using a hoist
- Feed scrap into pelletizer from racking system or hand feed lease scrap onto conveyor belt
- Monitor hopper levels and heat rollers
- Keep water tank cleaned – including screen
- Meet or exceed standard as established for daily production per hour
- Release repro into container, cover, and label
- Weigh all boxes of repro and record on tally sheet or electronically enter in computer
- Use stretch wrapper to wrap all boxes for storage
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent training desired
- Previous experience in a manufacturing facility desired
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Mechanical knowledge desired
- Possess basic computer skills
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to bend and reach overhead; required to stand and/or walk constantly for up to 12 hrs.
