Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring an Engineering Project Manager for it's Dayton, OH composites manufacturing operation.

The industries that we serve include aerospace, space, defense, energy, and infrastructure. Our products include fabrics, preforms, and finished composites for a variety of different performance regimes in those market spaces. We have the experience and expertise to help ensure our customer's success both as a reinforcement provider and through delivery of finished composite parts.
We are looking for a qualified Engineering Project Manager to support technology transition from development efforts into production for high temperature composite manufacturing. This role requires some prior experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with new product introduction and first article validation activities. They will communicate extensively with R&D and participate in part fabrication activities on new technology and they will own the handoff from development to operations personnel and production staff during limited rate production activities. They will be expected to maintain safety and productivity while working within a quality system, and they will support all aspects of production from supply chain management to product delivery. The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance accountability on a wide range of projects with different sizes of budget and deliverable part count.
This is a full-time, direct hire position with 1st shift hours.

ResponsibilitiesPerform a wide variety of engineering tasks, including but not limited to: process documentation, product fabrication, supplier coordination, and engineering management
- Manage part fabrication activities to cost, schedule, and performance targets
- Transition new products from R&D to production
- Generate and prepare prints, work orders, and other documents and communicate them to peers and technicians
- Train and lead engineers and technicians to complete tasks
- Follow new product introduction protocols
- Shepherd first articles through validation
- Plan 6-12 months ahead for infrastructure and support hardware needs
- Help define quality standards for new products
- Integrate and coordinate with production scheduling and asset management
- Support production staff with troubleshooting and routine subject matter expertise
- Support sales staff in quoting and customer interfacing
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Applicants must be exclusive US Citizens
- Applicants must be willing and able to apply for and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required
- Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering job is required
- Specialization in mechanical, aerospace, composites, textiles, or materials engineering is desired
- Experience working with composite materials is a significant advantage
- Experience working with advanced textile weaving is a plus
- General mechanical/technical aptitude and good manual dexterity required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and under pressure and complete all assigned tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations
- Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
- Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment
- Possess a working knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery
