The Vice President of Operations is one of three key critical leadership roles in overseeing the operational strategy, production efficiency, and overall performance of our manufacturing processes. The VP of Operations will ensure the company meets its production goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and contribute to the company’s growth and profitability.
We are looking for a hands-on leader that preferably has previous textile experience in Plant Management and Operations. We are seeking someone to oversee all aspects of the textile manufacturing process within the plant. This includes managing daily operations, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of supervisors and operators. The role requires a strong understanding of textile/manufacturing production processes, leadership abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
o Oversee and coordinate all plant activities to ensure production targets are met on time and within budget.
o Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize plant efficiency and productivity.
o Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring materials and supplies are available as needed.
o Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Team Leadership:
o Lead, manage, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators to achieve production goals.
o Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide opportunities for professional growth.
o Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement:
o Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
o Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline operations.
o Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to keep the plant competitive.
Quality Control:
o Maintain high standards of product quality by implementing and monitoring quality control processes.
o Address any quality issues promptly and work with the quality assurance team to prevent reoccurrences.
o Collaborate with the R&D department to ensure product development aligns with production capabilities.
Financial Management:
o Analyze production costs and implement measures to reduce waste and improve profitability.
o Ensure manufacturing processes are completed within cost estimates
o Report operational metrics to senior management regularly.
Maintenance and Equipment Management:
o Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
o Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule regular maintenance and address any equipment issues promptly.
o Plan for equipment upgrades and replacements as needed to maintain production capabilities.
Qualifications:
• Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles
• Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build consensus
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in textile manufacturing or similar industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of textile or similar production processes, including weaving, dyeing, finishing, and quality control.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced production technologies.
• Previous P/L responsibility preferred
