Responsibilities
- Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible, as well as all employees, through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning in order to ship and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
- Directs the day to day activities of the warehouse; such activities include shipping, receiving, housekeeping, maintenance and inventory control.
- Ensures that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
- Responsible for processing all returns, and ensuring warehouse meets all company policies, procedures and programs.
- Responsible to ensure all trailers are secured when loading. Makes recommendations for training and assists in training personnel in compliance to all company policies and procedures.
- Conducts employee meetings to keep employees informed on goals, company policies/rules and safety. Attends other meetings as required.
- Is responsible for inventory control, verifying product fits on loads, inter-company transfers. Maintain maintenance on building and equipment for warehouse area.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Experience working in a warehouse in a leadership position
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Experience working with JD Edwards is a plus
