Responsibilities
Berry Global is now seeking an Automation Engineer to be located in Pittston, PA. The Automation Engineer is responsible for the assembly, setup, fabrication, debug and commissioning of new, used and rebuilt automated equipment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the preparation and completion of automated equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and apply safety standards to maintain a safe working environment
- Provide mechanical support, including but not limited to, assembly, disassembly and rebuild of automated systems.
- Provide electrical support, including but not limited to, panel building, field wiring, troubleshooting and component setup.
- Provide fabrication support, including but not limited to, machining, cutting, and welding
- Support Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams as needed.
- Provide occasional field service support to assist with system support, installation, startup and commissioning.
- Work unsupervised in the assembly, set-up, and integration of automation equipment as needed
- Collaborate with vendors on project requirements and establish equipment specifications
- Provide technical training and instruct on standard operating procedures for use in equipment implementation and maintenance
- Participate in all aspects of safety, costs savings, continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
Adhere to all Berry Global, industry, and / or regulatory procedures
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Safety-Centric
- Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in the following:
- Project Management
- 2D CAD (AutoCAD or DraftSight) – Electrical and Mechanical
- 3D CAD (SolidWorks) – Mechanical
- PLC and HMI Programming (Rockwell, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Machine Vision (Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
- ISO Compliance
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (AC/DC Circuitry)
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Detail Oriented
- Multitasker
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Ability to perform RCCA (Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action)
- Team Oriented
- Data Driven
- Self-Motivator that wants to lead and grow
- Enjoys problem solving in a high paced work environment
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1-5 years working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 1-5 years managing or working in projects of varying budgets and complexity.
- 0-3 years creating and implementing automation solutions independently or in a team-oriented environment.
- Efficient in PLC Controls and able to integrate/troubleshoot with Robotic applications
- Allen Bradley, Pro Face, Yaskawa, Fanuc, ABB
- Working knowledge of machine vision systems
- Cognex, Keyence, Banner, CI Vision, Teledyne-Dalsa
