Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Molding Manager is the Leader of the Injection Molding team and is responsible for the safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale of the Molding Department.
Primary Responsibilities (Tasks, Duties Performed and Essential Functions):
- Produce quality molded product in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner.
- Foster a safe working environment, leading by example.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with product safety guidelines.
- Ensure employees are trained and comply with the Berry Safety Absolutes.
- Establish and lead plant safety objectives, ensuring compliance to all safety policies and procedures.
- Lead the department based on the Quality Vision Statement.
- Maximize production and minimize scrap.
- Identify problem areas in the department, and set in motion corrective actions.
- Responsible for molding efficiencies, and molding budget.
- Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence.
- Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
- Ensure effective labor utilization within departments to allow for maximum return on labor investment.
- Help train the molding technical staff.
- Hold meetings with the technical staff and the molding department as a whole.
- Maintain and enforce all company policies.
- Responsible for approving vacations and payroll for all molding personnel.
- Responsible for individual and team development and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure effective management of human capital.
- Supervise/manage direct reports (including decision-making for hiring, promotion, disciplinary action and discharge).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Injection Molding Experience.Six Sigma Black or Green belt preferredOSHA 30-hour certificationCertified or eligible to become certified CPR/First Aid/BBPA firm grasp of Microsoft Excel (i.e. Pivot table and Vlookup experience is valuable) is required to perform data analysis needed to succeed.
