Job Overview:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HVAC manufacturing production lines. This role involves managing production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and meeting production targets. The Production Manager will work closely with other departments to maintain a smooth and efficient production workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning and Management:
- Develop and implement detailed production schedules and work plans to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Coordinate production activities with procurement, inventory control, and quality assurance to ensure continuous production.
- Monitor and adjust production processes to accommodate changes in product demand or specifications.
2. Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and lead a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback, coaching, and training to enhance team skills and productivity.
- Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment that encourages teamwork and communication.
3. Quality Control and Assurance:
- Ensure that all production activities comply with industry standards and company quality requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections to maintain product quality.
- Address and resolve any production quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
4. Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing practices to increase efficiency.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement process changes to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and lower production costs.
5. Equipment and Maintenance Coordination:
- Oversee the maintenance of production equipment and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure that all machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance and repairs to prevent disruptions in production.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect employees and equipment.
7. Inventory and Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure availability for production.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, including output, efficiency, quality, and cost metrics.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control inspections.
- Communicate production status and issues to senior management and other relevant departments.
9. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production operations.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate production activities and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production management, preferably in the HVAC or related manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in managing production teams and improving manufacturing processes.
