We are looking to add Production Technicians to our Stretch Blow Molding (SBM) Department. Technician pay starts at $25/hour. Once trained, there is a strong probability you will be assigned to 2nd or 3rd Shift. Those hours are: 2nd - Monday through Friday 3 PM to 11 PM3rd - Monday through Friday 11 PM to 7 AM There is a $2/hr shift differential for working an off-shift.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will operate injection or stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment, inspect and pack product, and perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment. In this job, you will also:
- Start and stop machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning & lubricating and/or tightening of machine assembles.
- Perform product inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques.
- Pack product into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.
- Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
- Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.
- Operate machines, pull seepage, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (heldware)
- Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
- Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
- Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information.
- Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
- Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
- Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.
- Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.
We are a food-safe facility and have a number of PPE requirements that include (but are not limited to): Hard Hats, Hair Nets, Beard Nets (when applicable), Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, and we require safety toed shoes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One to three years related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units in decimals and fractions, with weight measurement, volume, and dimensions. Ability to understand Statistical Process Control charts and data.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
