We are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting the tax accountant with tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, month-end work papers, and other month-end duties as assigned.
- Analyze Profit Margins and Manufacturing Costs
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and procedures
- Analyze and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer, part number and production jobs
- Analysis of PPV and Cost Variance
- Study and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
- Assist in training of junior accounting team members
- Assist with annual financial audit
- Preparation of Ad hoc Reporting as requested by Plant Operations Management
- Act as back up for accounts payable team
- Other duties as assigne
- Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player.
- Strong MS Office experience and proficiency with developing and using spreadsheets and/or databases.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business and minimum of 5 years of manufacturing accounting experience required
- Above-average communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take ownership of assigned projects.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Ability to identify improvement areas and drive automation in accounting processes.
- Prior experience managing accounting activities for multiple sites
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required
