To continue delivering the best possible experiences, we are hiring a Director of Engineering in Boston, MA to lead our Fulfillment Center (FC) Design and Robotics Engineering Teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Run our FC Design Engineering team that are working with stakeholders across the organization to develop detailed designs for new FCs and FC retrofits
- Lead our Robotics Research and Development team who are responsible for the design, development, and deployment of advanced automation and robotics solutions to improve the safety, productivity, and quality of Chewy’s FC operations.
- Mentor, develop, and build high performing teams.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to solidify business requirements and prioritize engineering investments
- Develop and manage a project/product roadmap to support Chewy’s growth and business goals
- Identify and mitigate risks
- Establish and maintain feedback mechanisms
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, MIS, CS, or related field) or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets
- Ability to develop clear and concise written business proposals
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up 25% of time
Bonus (if applicable):
- Master's Degree (Engineering, MIS, CS, or related field)
- Experience developing designs for FCs
- Experience developing advanced automation and robotics solutions for FCs
- Experience with cloud native technology stacks (i.e., AWS) and service-oriented architecture
