Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will manage the planning and completion of manufacturing/production engineering projects, including the design and development of manufacturing processes, tooling and fixtures, and process development products to meet daily production and new product development schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers across various product areas
- Provide leadership to engineering staff regarding project prioritization, process validations, and continuous improvement activities
- Implement and manage resource planning and project management tools
- Support ongoing production, process development, and new product introduction (NPI)
- Spearhead DFM Assessments
- Monitor and evaluate the project and department progress and results
- Participate in cross-functional teams
- Review and approve protocol and written reports
- Drive continuous improvement of technical engineering capabilities
- Prepare technical reports, analyses, recommendations, and presentations reflecting the status and results of projects in progress regularly
- Coach, manage and develop technical staff
- Develop, implement, train, and monitor the effectiveness of engineering systems and procedures
- Perform strategic hiring to grow the current team to meet future production goals
- Evaluation of teams' skills and talents against Company needs
- Provide input to production plans capable of identifying accurate component delivery dates across multiple Satellite Programs
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related technical degree; advanced degree preferred
- 7 years of manufacturing and processing development experience, with a minimum of 5 years of technical staff management experience and 3 years of project management experience involving coordination of cross-functional teams
- 5 years prior experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing preferred
- Ability to interfacing seamlessly with all levels of the organization
- Previous experience with PCB manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or spacecraft/spacecraft hardware manufacturing
- Familiarity with Aerospace Quality standards (ISO9000, AS9100) and space hardware handling practices
- Competency with MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with JIRA is a plus
- Demonstrate experience with rapid development projects
- Demonstrate teamwork and written/oral communications skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and documentation
- Demonstrate employee management experience and proficiency in task management to meet required deadlines

Salary Range $110,000-$160,000
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
