Position Overview:
We are looking for a Warehouse Management Consultant to support our implementation team on a contract basis for approximately 12 months. This role involves visiting operational sites throughout the country to organize and standardize equipment parts rooms according to VMRS (Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards) coding standards in preparation for an Oracle implementation. Qualified candidates will have a solid understanding of maintenance parts for stationary assets, such as conveyor systems and sorters, and experience in parts room or warehouse management within manufacturing or similar industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to various warehouse and maintenance operations centers nationwide to assess and organize spare parts used for internal asset repairs.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for parts room setups, including optimizing layout, signage, and standardization of inventory.
- Train on-site personnel on VMRS coding (Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards) for consistent and effective inventory management.
- Collaborate with on-site clerks to physically organize parts, relabel items, and update inventory information in legacy systems.
- Coordinate logistics and planning for upcoming site visits, including ordering necessary signage and materials.
- Gather and analyze data from upcoming sites, utilizing basic computer and Excel skills to prepare for site visits.
- Review and utilize site photos to aid in preparation and planning for future visits.
- Schedule and secure commitments from on-site personnel, ensuring necessary support is in place for each visit.
- Monitor and follow up on the progress of sites that have been visited, conducting audits and collecting updates, including reviewing photos of completed setups.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience managing parts rooms or warehouses, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of stationary assets, such as conveyor systems, sorters, and other equipment common in recycling centers or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with VMRS coding (Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards) and its application in inventory management.
- Proven ability to implement new processes and adapt to changing environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively (Monday to Thursday) and work remotely on Fridays.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with on-site teams.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the transformation and preparation of sites for a global ERP implementation.
