The Position
Alene Candles is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing environment.
The primary duty of this position is to support production needs by performing routine repairs of support equipment and maintenance of Alene Candles facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical/mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing areas.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings. You should have good electrical and mechanical ability and knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics. You should understand the principals and theories of mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance techniques as well as those of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. Demonstrate effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Possess strong problem-solving abilities, along with critical thinking skills, and excel in collaborating with others in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Job Details
- Maintain and repair production and building support equipment (including automated, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery).
- Perform various types of facility maintenance to include basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Implement preventive maintenance and repair procedures to expedite timely repairs and reduce lost production time.
- Maintain maintenance documentation for the equipment.
- Use of welders, acetylene torches and brazing or soldering equipment.
- Maintain Alene standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related tasks as directed.
- Occasionally work on other tasks not listed that may be assigned by the supervisor of the department.
You should have:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 Years of Practical Experience
OR
- Graduate of a Technical School
- 1 year of experience
And:
- PC skills to include at minimum Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong basic skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Preferred Skills:
- Past Maintenance experience.
- Advanced PC knowledge will be an advantage.
- Electrical experience as an electrical apprentice of higher.
- Electrical controls knowledge PLC, Basic controls wiring,
- Have (or have the ability to) obtain a CDL medical certificate .

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
