Responsible for directing the activities of shop floor, developing and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and pride in workmanship. This position will oversee all operational responsibilities of this fabrication shop to include ordering shop supplies, scheduling work, inventory, receiving, shipping, safety and more. Candidate will be a supervisor of workflow and required to fill in on production duties as needed.Candidate will review, research and analyzes quality related data; identify problems, offers resolutions and performs reporting activities. Work with Branch Manager to ensure established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Work Instructions and Forms are maintained and updated as required.

Duties and Responsibilities- Oversees the production process and schedule for a custom fabrication and production line company.
- Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments.
- Assist in VMI deliveries
- Participate in counting inventory for cycle counts and maintain stock (i.e., tag, stack, sort, keep organized). Clean equipment and all shop areas with staff
- Participate in lean activity and safety regulations with staff
- Regularly make suggestions for improvement and work on continuous improvement projects for lean, quality and safety
- Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance to maintain ISO goals
- May approve some expenditure for shop supplies and materials
- Employ continuous improvement practices/training programs plus promote and enforce Health and Safety Standards
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment. Serve as primary contact for all branch quality issues, documenting any such issues in the Branch Problem Log (GHXellence.)
- Report major quality issues to Branch Manager or Corporate Quality Manager where any production or work stoppage may be realized.
- Assess any incoming NCR's either at Receiving Inspection, or via email from customers. Log NCR's into GHX NCR Tracking dB. Investigate reason for NCR and generate disposition of NCR material utilizing the Root Cause, Corrective and Preventive Action templates provided by the Corporate Quality Manager. Generate a customer response based on the internal investigation utilizing the provided NCR Customer Response Form
- Lead quality investigations at the branch level utilizing the quality investigation tools provided by the Branch/Corporate Quality Manager (Root Cause/Corrective Action, Fishbone Diagrams, Mistake Proofing, etc.)
- Compile and respond to PPAP requests with internal QC information by logging into customer portal for documentation
Accountabilities- Opening and closing the shop daily
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Ensure customer cleanliness standards are adhered to at all times
- Regularly checks on the status of repairs, maintenance and projects to ensure they are being completed on schedule and within budget
- Ensure appropriate quality standards are maintained (API & ISO) and provide quality training to associates as needed
