Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Lead assists in the management of the day to day workload of the maintenance team to ensure the the plant, facilities, machinery and ancillary equipment run to their optimum efficiency. Takes responsibility for process uptime, process efficiencies, and attainment of specific daily production goals. Responsible for performing all the routine maintenance and repair activities necessary for the optimum operation of the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety first - Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Responsible for the safety of individuals on the team and that of those impacted by any maintenance activity.
Ensure that all quality, safety, and clean-up procedures are being followed.
Apply a continuous improvement mind-set to all operations of the facility.
Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks as they relate to the maintenance department and in support of other departments.
Assist with scheduling labor to ensure maintenance coverage for all plant operations.
Assist in the onboarding/training of maintenance team members.
Perform effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment to maximize availability.
Conduct regular equipment audits for preventative maintenance
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with assignment of work tasks, preventative maintenance, line call coverage and projects to the maintenance team members and monitoring/supporting completion, quality and safety.
Install, repair, and maintain processing and material handling equipments as needed.
Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and critical spares coordinating with vendors and manufacturers as needed.
Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on the troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment as needed.
Continuously develop and keep maintenance and equipment repair SOPs current
Lead teams to identify and permanently resolve problems through the use of effective counter measures including, but not limited to; process changes, Poka Yoke, equipment modifications, and/or procedure changes.
Records any problems related to the process or system; initiates, recommends, provides and/or implements solutions; includes such key initiatives into maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings
Provide on-machine expertise to operators and other staff personnel to ensure manufacturing capability and capacity are meeting delivery and performance targets.
Record and document all work carried out on all equipment on paper and electronic systems as are required.
Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization in line with 5S standards and practices.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent and three years’ relevant work experience is required. Coursework, certification or BS Degree in Engineering or similar curriculum preferred.
- Comprehensive electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is desired.
- Able to impact and remove bottlenecks to production through analysis and planning as well as create preventative actions.
- Professional communication skills, interactions should be productive, encourage active participation of all team members during troubleshooting.
- Be in the mindset to support and serve, to be accountable to the needs and concerns of the front line employees relating to equipment issues.
TRAVEL AND MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Travel 10-20%
Willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators.
Support all shifts as required.
Compensation: $28 to $41/hr 2nd shift diff 5% and 3rd shift diff 10%
