We are seeking a Material Handler to join our Warehouse team. This position will play an important role in effectively meeting the needs of our customers in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. Material Handlers are an integral part of our operations, responsible for executing a variety of tasks related to the receiving, staging, and shipment of our products. These tasks include sorting, stacking, and labeling products, as well as timely pulling and staging of materials and components for production, and maintaining accurate inventory of all manufacturing products and finished goods.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands and complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as per Quality guidelines.
- Maintains raw and finished products clean, neatly organized and free of damage.
- Moves products to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas, either manually or using equipment such as manual or powered pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Stages raw materials, capsules and all packaging components for blending, encapsulation and packaging.
- Maintains accurate inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing products in assigned warehouse locations.
- Prepares finished goods for shipment by locating, palletizing, wrapping, labeling and staging orders.
- Assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse and company grounds by organizing, sweeping, disposing of refuse and other associated tasks as needed.
- Provides support for other warehouse operational functions or special projects as directed.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency in the performance of daily functions.
- Ability to safely operate powered material handling equipment like forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with little or no supervision.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in the accurate performance of receiving materials.
- Must be accurate and detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs on a repetitive basis.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull, lift for 8-10 hours daily.
- Ability to identify and differentiate product by item, description, lot number and/or expiration date.
- Computer proficiency enough to operate scan guns and enter product identification and location data into the company’s ERP system.
- Solid understanding of fundamental mathematics and accurate counting ability.
- Comprehension of and ability to use the metric system for weights, volumes and lengths.
- Ability to perform basic calculations to convert quantities between related units of measure.
- Stand up forklift experience required
Education:
- High-school diploma or GED
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Prior forklift certification a plus but not required
Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands, and occasionally with short notice.
