Responsibilities

THE POSITION:  Responsible for performing preventive and repair work on production support machinery to ensure the continuous production of high quality film while maintaining all safety work standards.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.  Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management.  Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.  Participates in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enters Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center Database (GDC)
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and corrects mechanical process problems to ensure capability of production equipment.
  • Provides technical support for production.
  • Regularly inspects and maintains production support equipment including but not limited to, Material Handling System, Printers, Facility Maintenance, Portable Production Equipment, Required Periodic Inspections.
  • Assists with assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production equipment and building support equipment as required for upgrades or new installations.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.  May be assigned additional responsibilities as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space.
  • Accurately records/documents detailed information regarding work performed.
  • Works with contractors as needed for maintenance or project work.
  • Maintains building and grounds.
  • Participate in employee driven teams and continuous improvement projects to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Education:  Knowledge of specialized field gained through specialized training equivalent to one year of college or trade school or equivalent experience of four to five years preferred.

Experience:  In addition to the educational requirements, two to four years of experience in industrial and facility repair.

Must possess basic mechanical skills.  Must demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.  Ability to read mechanical drawings and documentation.  Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
