Responsibilities
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing numerous duties related to the packaging and inspection of bottles, closures, preforms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times and immediately report unsafe working conditions or mechanical safety problems to the Shift Supervisor.
- Understand the product line. Know the function of the product and any potential product defects that can adversely affect the function or application of the product.
- Make up cardboard boxes
- Place bags in cardboard boxes
- Place bands over the outside of cardboard boxes and tuck in corners of bags
- Remove bottles from the line and place them in boxes by hand
- Package bottles, closures, or preforms
- Inspect parts on the conveyor belts and in product containers throughout the shift.
- Tape boxes closed
- Place proper identification labels on finished product
- Place finished product boxes on skids and band them together when necessary
- Move skids of product from the production area to the warehouse area as necessary
- Assist in the performance of machine startups and shutdowns and line clearances, and keep machine downtime to a minimum.
- Keep the workstation clean and neat at all times by utilizing good housekeeping practices.
- Assist in the training of fellow associates and perform other duties as assigned.
- Follows applicable EHS, Food Safety, and cGMP polices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (written & oral).
- Ability to work under direct supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions and techniques.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
