Position Overview
The Supply Chain Specialist will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain operations to ensure seamless production and delivery of our automotive components. This individual will collaborate closely with suppliers, manage inventory levels, and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
Material Management and Production Planning: Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software to forecast, plan, and manage material requirements for production. Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources to meet production schedules and customer demand.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory costs. Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
Customer Demand Management: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer demand and forecast requirements. Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure products are shipped according to customer demand, quantity, and location.
Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation and distribution of goods to ensure on-time delivery to customers. Optimize logistics processes to minimize transportation costs and improve delivery efficiency. Knowledge of incoterms and import/export requirements is essential for international shipments.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and measure success.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, including buyers, planners, and logistics coordinators. Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing supply chain operations. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier disruptions or transportation delays, to minimize impact on operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficient in supply chain software and tools, with a keen eye for data analysis and performance metrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
