As a Mold/Tool Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our manufacturing processes through the design, development, and optimization of molds and tooling systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality plastic components for EV vehicles.
Responsibilities:
.Tool Maintenance and Repair: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for molds and tooling equipment. Coordinate repairs and modifications to ensure the longevity and reliability of critical production assets.
.Prototype Development: Collaborate with product development teams to create prototype molds and tooling for new product designs. Conduct testing and validation to ensure functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
.Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize mold/tooling designs and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize scrap rates. Implement design changes and process improvements as needed.
.Mold/Tool Design: Lead the design and development of molds, dies, and tooling systems for plastic injection molding processes. Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs that meet product specifications and quality standards.
.Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for molds and tooling. Conduct inspections and measurements to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and part quality.
.Cost Management: Identify opportunities to optimize tooling costs and reduce production expenses while maintaining quality and performance standards. Evaluate alternative materials, processes, and suppliers to achieve cost savings.
.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of mold/tooling designs, specifications, and maintenance activities. Generate reports on tooling performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
.Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in the design, operation, and maintenance of molds and tooling equipment. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
