The MPG Operations Manager for our Machining, Plating and Grinding (MPG) Business at Piedmont will provide you a rare opportunity to leave your “fingerprint” as you develop, mature and enhance the processes and procedures that will be used to not only grow the company in the short term, but determine how the company will sustain and operate in the future.
The MPG business at Piedmont will require a dynamic leader that will lead and continue to develop a highly functioning team, drive increase capacity development and output while still maintaining quality, has a commercial and financial mindset and will reduce cost and increase profitability.
The MPG Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the overall business strategy for MPG operations, which includes creating plans to achieve specific goals and objectives.
They will review the organization to determine strengths, weaknesses, operational effectiveness and opportunities for improvement. Recommend initiatives from internal and external factors that minimize risks and formulate plans to achieve long-term goals. Assess organizational performance and develop achievable goals by implementing processes that improve organizational effectiveness while building a sustainable competitive advantage.
Reports to Director of Operations
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior executives to analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- Execution of the monthly operations schedule and build plan forecast.
- Ensure the MPG Business unit is structured to support the SIOP forecast (Manpower, capacity, tooling, etc.)
- P&L ownership for department level spend.
- Builds, defines, manages and reports departmental performance metrics (KPI) for continuous improvement.
- Supports organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue and expense controls for the MPG Operations
- Proposes department needs and set strategic goals with upper management.
- Delivers performance evaluations and follows the progressive discipline process in accordance with company policy.
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.
- Evaluates the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and applies improvements.
- Helps promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Adheres to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
- Performs other duties as required by business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations or related field or 5+ years of senior leadership experience in a complex MRO manufacturing environment; aviation/aerospace MRO industry.

- Proven success in achieving and maintaining OTD and TAT goals for the organization.
