Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

  • Provides maintenance support to the entire manufacturing facility to ensure quality and minimize production downtime. This position contributes to the ongoing upkeep of facility, machinery, equipment, and plant operations by providing repairs, adjustments, installations and preventative maintenance necessary for proper function and appearance of operations.
  • Participates in all major rebuilds and plant facilities maintenance. May be placed on a call to work extended hours of shifts, as required by management or business needs.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.  working knowledge of basic elements of TPM and good manufacturing practices in a manufacturing environment 
  • Applies a wide variety of methods procedures and techniques to lay out, install, a line, repair, overhaul and maintain various types of machines and compassing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and operation principles. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration
  • Cleans, lubricates and adjusts parts, equipment and machinery 
  • Examines parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear 
  • Observes and tests the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices 
  • Operates newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs 
  • Reads blueprints and manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation and operating of machinery 
  • Demonstrates equipment functions and features to Machine Operators 
  • Records repairs, maintenance, parts and materials used, orders requisitions new parts and materials as necessary
  • Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority and operations to support and work execution 
  • Performs mechanical troubleshooting, repair of miscellaneous equipment, preventative maintenance 

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

 

Education: High School diploma or GED is required.

 

Experience: In addition to the educational requirements, 4 years minimum work experience in industrial maintenance including troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Experience with blown film manufacturing and converting equipment is a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities

 

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision.
  • Be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required. Rotate on-call schedule with maintenance staff.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required to use hands and fingers to use hand tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Must be able to climb ladders, work from a lift, work with and around electricity; may be required to work in confined spaces.

Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and/or holidays as necessary.
