Summary
The Payroll Specialist will join a seasoned team of Payroll professionals responsible for ~1,500+ employees in 6 legal entities across the US and Canada. The Specialist will support and assist with administration and weekly processing for multiple pay groups. This role requires strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to work extended shifts during peak times.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the administration and processing of Payroll
- Validation and reconciliation of Payroll data before transmission including taxes, hours, and gross-to-net results
- Maintenance and retention of electronic Payroll records
- Manage assignments, ensuring all transactions are prepared accurately and timely
- Assist with year-end tax and W2 processing
- Train end users as needed to navigate and complete their responsibilities in Ceridian Dayforce
- Ensure timely validation of employee record changes and accuracy in payroll calculations
- Perform audits on records
- Work with divisional Human Resource business partners for their specific payroll needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related area (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 1+ years in a Financial related role
- Demonstrated ability to manage and meet strict deadlines
- High degree of professionalism and an ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
- Strong analytical skills with acute attention to detail, ability to research and interpret data
- Demonstrated clear, concise communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel
Preferred Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations, and tax
- American Payroll Association certification
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce
- Experience with other Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint
Work Location
This position will be based out of the corporate office, located in Beloit, WI. A hybrid schedule may be negotiable after 90 days.
