Applied Materials’ Sustainability Center of Excellence is searching for a recent graduate to join our team starting July 2024! Within Applied Materials’ Systems Engineering organization, our Sustainability Center of Excellence analyzes both in-design and existing semiconductor product sets to identify new opportunities to reduce consumption of energy, water, and process chemicals.
Responsibilities
Understanding the details of semiconductor process gas emissions is the first step to enabling significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions throughout the semiconductor industry. Our mission is to support development and lessen the environmental impact of process chemistries.
Perform design of experiments to improve identification of chemical species in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
Develop custom hardware and data analysis solutions
Specify and oversee development of custom analytical equipment
Configure and troubleshoot hardware and firmware
Manage sensitive gas handling equipment
Communicates complex analyses to various audiences
Requirements
Graduating with an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a related field
Good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Working knowledge of general spectroscopy theory
Hands-on experience using and maintaining laboratory-grade spectroscopy and measurement equipment (including FTIR and QMS)
Familiarity with laboratory software such as LabVIEW, Excel, Matlab; coding skills are a plus
Strong analytical skills, ability to build statistical models and make recommendations to team
Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.

U.S. Salary Range:
$104,000.00 - $143,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
