What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
The Lead Water/Wastewater Operator oversees the daily operations and maintenance of 5 Water and 2 Wastewater Treatment Facilities as directed by the Project Manager and Operations Chief. You will assist in training and supervising operations staff. If you enjoy working outdoors protecting nature’s precious resource, water, then you will find this position challenging and rewarding. Some of the duties you will be performing include:- Responsible for ensuring that the facility meets all process control targets in the various treatment systems and odor control systems.
- Implements policies and procedures for process monitoring and control and troubleshooting.
- Supervises the collection of process samples or collects samples when necessary.
- Leads and supervises the daily activities and duties of the operations team.
- Performs in-house lab analysis and interprets their results. May be required to coordinate all additional analysis with certified labs for compliance.
- Supervises or performs the adjustment of water and/or wastewater process systems, operations and equipment in order to comply with local, state and federal drinking water/ wastewater standards and compliance permit requirements.
- Coordinates with maintenance staff to evaluate equipment performance and correct deficiencies, assists with capital planning.
- Develops and maintains records such as chemical usage, flows, operations equipment and process checklists, diaries, logbooks and laboratory records in accordance with the compliance permits and client requests.
- May be required to manage contractors/vendors for Capital improvement projects.
- May be required to supervise maintenance activities in the absence of maintenance staff.
- May be required to communicate with regulatory officials and client representatives.
Compensation- Salary Range - $26.00 - $32.00/hour and is eligible for overtime.
- On-call, incentives offer $200 for the week you are on call (this is on a rotation).
- Compensation for being on call is 2hrs minimum paid for each call out received.
- Annual Project bonuses are awarded each year.
- Annual Safety bonuses are awarded each year.
- Vacation time: 2 – 4 weeks eligibility depending on years of experience
Schedule:- Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. Flexibility and extended shifts to meet the seasonal demands of the water system. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position. Availability for standby duty and the ability to be “on-call,” working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Response to emergency events and alarm call-outs required as scheduled and required.
