Job Summary
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overall site leadership of our largest facility in North America. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. This will include daily operations, and ensuring procedures are followed. The Plant Manager will have the key leadership skills to develop people and processes that will maximize quality, safety and productivity. This role will collaborate with our global team of manufacturing and supply chain experts, sharing and implementing best practices across our global network.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day to day operations
- Develop, implement and commit to plant safety procedures
- Increase production, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with corporate initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Create an environment of trust with the workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions to ensure quality process
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
- Evaluate Manufacturing processes for potential cost savings
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return
- Manage with best practices and concepts
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in plant leadership
- 15+ years of manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of 5S and LEAN
- Proven knowledge of business management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Computer literacy
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- BS degree in Engineering field or Business Management preferred
