Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Project Engineer located in Los Angeles, CA. The Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for project coordination, construction engineering, quality control, and submittals. Effective communication skills and collaboration with stakeholders will also be essential in ensuring project success.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and review of project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project design and construction documents are accurate and meet project requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and on-site personnel, addressing any technical queries or challenges that may arise.
- Monitor and report on project progress, including tracking construction activities, milestones, and critical path items.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate implementation on-site.
- Assist in the management and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement of materials and equipment.
- Assist in the preparation and review of change orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project budgets.
- Assist in the documentation and management of project-related data, including drawings, logs, reports, and project correspondence.
- Collaborate with project managers to track project costs, monitor budgets, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any safety-related concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and building codes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Experience with construction management software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to find practical solutions to complex construction challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, OSHA) are a plus.
