Responsibilities
- Shift supervisors are required to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of their shift.
- Manages shift personnel, verifies attendance, communicates assignments, schedule, etc.
- Responsible for the safety of the personnel assigned to the shift, ensures proper PPE is distributed to each employee. Verifies attendance during an emergency event and/or drill.
- Familiar with the facility requirements for reporting an emergency incident.
- Communicates safety hazards and emergency evacuation procedures to new employees prior to job start.
- Maintains facility security at all times.
- Knowledgeable and familiar with injection, and blow molding processes, as applicable, ability to complete process adjustments as needed as authorized by management.
- Understands product requirements as described in Product Control Plans. Communicates operator instructions and product specific quality, food safety and packaging requirements to shift personnel.
- Records significant observations, events, process changes, quality issue responses, etc., as needed in the Production History Log.
- Familiar with AMCOR food safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Understands and enforces the employee behavioral requirements outlined in Employee General Work Practices FSSR-780-051/052.
- Ensures tools and other equipment distributed at the start of each shift are returned at the end of the shift and are fully accounted for.
- Able to perform variety of select tasks in a manufacturing environment:Product packaging,Weighing of product, Assembling products, Running auxiliary equipment, Performing product inspections.
- Familiar with AMCOR Plastics part number system scheme.
- Comfortable operating a variety of material handling equipment.
- Participates in employee training activities and evaluates the effectiveness of training by observing the actions of shift personnel. Recommends and schedules additional training as applicable.
- Ensures product defects are properly reported. Communicates significant product and/or process issues to operations and/or quality management.
- Ensures finished product is properly identified and scanned into inventory (maintains product traceability). Responsible for the safe transfer of products within the facility.
- Awareness, understanding and enforcement of AMCOR GMP requirements: (1) Waste Management, (2) Glass, Brittle Plastics, Wood and Small Metal Policy, (3) Master Sanitation Program, (4) Pest Control, (5) Employee Hygiene, (6) Allergen Control Program, (7) Chemical Management, (8) Equipment Management and (9) Metal Detection and Removal Policy.
- Maintains the cleanliness of each workstation during the shift. Responsible for transferring a clean workstation to the next shift.
Communicates observations, events, issues, schedule deviations, etc., with the supervisor assigned to the next shift.
Performs other tasks assigned by operations manager.
Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience, prefer plastic industry experience in a food packaging operation but will consider other relevant experience.
Education:
Should be appropriate to the job requirements
