Abbott Metal Werks is a premier manufacturer and innovator in the fastener industry, currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cold Heading Engineer to join our dedicated team in Wheeling, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing cold heading processes to produce high-quality fastener products. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing production efficiency and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cold heading processes to ensure efficiency and quality of production.
- Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of existing machinery and techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Develop and review technical specifications and process documentation.
- Train and provide technical support to operators and other staff on cold heading practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, contributing ideas and solutions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to bring innovative solutions to the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cold heading or a similar manufacturing role(REQUIRED)
- Strong understanding of cold heading technology and processes.
- Proficient in Solid Works software and engineering design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate detailed reports.
- Familiarity with quality management principles and ISO standards.
- Experience in cold forming nut a plus.
- MUST BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES.
