The Opportunity
As Halo Industries transitions from prototypes to full-scale production, we are seeking an experienced engineering leader to bring process and predictability to Halo’s engineering efforts. This leadership role will be responsible for development and deployment of our innovative laser-based solutions. The Director of Engineering’s primary responsibility is to enable predictable development and product introduction schedules.
Role and Responsibilities:
● Engineering Leadership: Execute Halo’s product roadmap by working closely with the Halo senior executive team and aligning priorities in the R&D organization.
● Team Development: Grow and transition a highly competent engineering team from prototypes to production.
● Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of Halo's laser-based solutions and production tooling, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and reliability standards.
● Strategic Execution: Drive the execution of engineering projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource management.
● Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including Product Management, Operations, and Sales, to align priorities and achieve company objectives.
● Process Optimization: Enhance productivity and efficiency by implementing, maintaining, and improving engineering processes and methodologies.
● Technology Management: Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to support product development and innovation.
● Stakeholder Management: Interface with external partners, suppliers, and customers to align technical requirements and ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
● Education: Master’s degree preferred in Engineering or a related field.
● Experience:
○ 12+ years of progressive experience in an engineering leadership role within capital equipment or related industries.
○ 8+ years of experience in product development and engineering management.
○ Experience in a high-growth manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
● Skills:
○ Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive technical programs and initiatives.
○ Proficiency to drive execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
○ Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented mindset.
○ Experience working with external suppliers and engineering partners.
○ Process-driven, with expertise in structured program management and engineering best practices.
