POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team on the 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Your focus will be on enhancing productivity, quality, and efficiency while promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide manufacturing engineering support for processes in production, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Develop and implement standard work instructions (SWIs), work flows, and layout improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in engineering change notifications (ECNs) and support the implementation of changes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and drive resolution efforts.
- Support project management initiatives for capital projects and process upgrades.
- Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
- Document process improvements and provide training to production staff on new processes and methodologies.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty vehicle industry.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on data-driven improvements.
- Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work 2nd shift hours and adapt to changing production needs.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
