Job Description
The warehouse receiving position is responsible for all incoming shipments into the distribution center, ensuring that all receiving functions and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner. This includes verifying that product and quantities match packing slips and purchase orders, communicating with vendors to rectify discrepancies, unloading trucks and accurately dispatching product to be properly stock to the shelves. In an effort, to provide the highest level of customer services, all warehouse associates will be cross trained to be proficient in the areas of order fulfillment, quality control and shipping, stocking and other basic warehouse functions.
JW Pepper distribution center is hiring to fill several positions in print services, full time, 40 hours a week, Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. All applicants must be flexible to accommodate seasonal overtime, which includes some evening and Saturday hours. All applicants must adhere to a strict attendance policy. Starting wage $16.00 an hour. Applicants must successfully pass all pre-hire screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
Job Responsibilities
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect packages and contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages contents according to purchase orders, packing slips and invoices
- Record errors and reject damaged items
- Route specific deliveries to various other departments
- Determine proper identification labels are attached to product and boxes when necessary
- Sort, count, identify verify and track all materials to maintain accurate records and assist inventory control
- Place product in appropriate areas for quick putaway
- File product in appropriate pick or bulk locations
- Receivers must meet production standards during peak season
- Assist with processing customer returns
- Product kit creation
- Follow all inventory management procedures
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
- Follow company policies as outlined in the employee handbook
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and stocked with necessary supplies
- Must be detailed oriented
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate seasonal overtime requirements including weekend work
- Physical strength – Must be able to lift 30+ lbs frequently
- Physical stamina – Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; Must be capable of twisting, stooping, squatting, bending and reaching above shoulder level on a frequent basis
- Ability to work under pressure with strong motivation and a sense of urgency
- Must be able to establish and shift priorities easily
- Must be able to accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Must be positive and friendly with ability to work in a team environment
- Forklift experience beneficial
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
